Andrew Commins began his career in travel claims management in 1993 when he joined Claims International Limited before going on to work for The Claims Office, a division of SureTravel.

In 1997 Andrew joined the Collinson Group where he managed their in-house claims facility, Global Claims Services. In 2001 he joined the Group’s newly formed Global Insurance Solutions team as Supplier Manager. This role saw Andrew responsible for the Group’s worldwide outsourcing of claims and assistances services and led him to working with over 20 worldwide partners.

From the Collinson Group, Andrew went on to join Europ Assistance as their Claims Manager, looking after both their UK and Irish claims facilities. It was in November 2007 that Andrew left Europ Assistance to form RightPath Insurance Solutions Limited.

He is no stranger within the industry and at only 31 years of age, he has already spent the last 9 years sitting on various travel insurance committees including Travel Loss Adjusters Committee (TLAC), Travel Insurers Claims Committee (TICC) and Travel Underwriters Group (TUG). His professional commitment has also seen him studying toward becoming an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, having already gained a Diploma and Certificate in IT for Insurance Professionals.

It was in his time spent as a Supplier Manager that Andrew begun to observe what he saw as missed opportunities in terms of how claims were traditionally being handled. At the time, attempting to work with the independent providers to try and exploit these opportunities proved increasingly difficult. It was from this frustration that Andrew begun to believe that there was a genuine niche not only for quality-oriented services but also cost-effective technological enablers targeted specifically for the travel claims market.

Andrew began to write the business rules that would become the blue-print for ATICS and this proved to be the birth point for RightPath Insurance Solutions.
